My biggest concern when my son was released from rehab was a place to live. It was not possible for him to come back home and he had no place to go. I feared that he would be on the street or in a homeless shelter. He truly had no where to go. As his release day got closer, he told me about a sober living house that he could go to. In my mind, I pictured a rehab type facility, but I knew it was our only resource. The day that I took him to Ebby's Place to meet Ben, I was totally surprised. A beautiful house, yard, and most importantly, a smiling face welcomed us. I truly believe if my son had not had the opportunity to live at Ebby's Place that he would not be in recovery today. The message of hope that my son and I have received in the past month from Ben and the other residents has been very promising.

My name is Josh and I am an addict, I have done it all, drugs, alcohol and eventually huffing. I started at a fairly young age abusing drugs. I struggled with bi-polar disorder and depression for several years. I have bounced in and out of psychiatric wards and rehab centers, never finding a solution to my problem. My last huffing situation, left me for dead, laying by a dumpster, a passer-by stopped and after a bizarre series of events, she was able to identify me through my Facebook page, she contacted my father and I went to my last rehab center. After treatment I called Ebby’s Place and moved in immediately. Now I have my spiritual foundation, which fosters the desire to helping others. I attend meetings regularly and work with others showing them the way to sobriety. The brotherhood I feel at Ebby’s place and my relationship with God is like nothing I have experienced before and now have the tools to maintain long term sobriety. Currently I am employed at a Texas treatment center and never would have imagined life would be this great. I have maintained my sobriety since May 6, 2010.

My son Josh needed a miracle in his life. He was out of rehab benefits, options, and friends, so after treatment, Josh moved into Ebby's Place. For Josh, it was the answer. It was the right amount of freedom, discipline, and accountability. He found an environment that challenged and equipped him to deal with life. The emphasis given to helping others is both Biblical and practical. Josh is becoming the man God created him to be and Ebby's Place is playing a huge role in his life. I highly recommend Ebby's Place!
Ben Patterson, Ebby's Place, and God saved my son's life. Not necessarily in that order. My son had used up all his insurance rehab benefits, friends, and trust. Ben took him in. He didn't last long. He violated the house rules and was back on the street until he sobered up at a different facility and changed his attitude. He learned Ben meant business and that he had too as well. That was one year ago. A one year sobriety birthday is a big deal. At least it was in our house. If statistics are right, and they are, some of those fighting Ebby's Place will soon need a place for a family member. Hopefully, there will be a place available to them that is run with integrity, has a no drug or alcohol tolerance policy, holds to the value of a strong work ethic and accountability, and teaches its occupants the tools they need to continue this lifestyle when they leave. Oh yea! There is a place like that. Ebby's Place. Hope it is still available for them and the one they love!
Ebby’s Place LLC is a supportive, structured sober living environment. Our primary purpose is to assist the alcoholic / drug addict, transition from treatment to independent living. We are committed to teaching our residents a spiritual program of action that will be the foundation of their recovery.
